Whether it's an elementary sock hop, lunch jam, High School Prom, Christian youth function, carnival, or a college function, Amick Events can handle all your needs. We start the party and keep it going and the music will always be appropriate for each age group.

We pride ourselves in establishing relationships with numerous Portland and Vancouver schools and churches. We would love to meet with your dance committee or your PTO/PTA and help plan each aspect of your dance. We can answer questions from “how to get the staff involved” to “how to keep the kids from 'freak' dancing.” The best planned dances are the most successful. We will do more than just show up and play music...we make sure to work not only with students but also advisors to ensure the most fun, but also the safest experience possible. We always provide clean versions of all our songs. We will work with you personally to create the music for your event long before the date.

The amount of interaction we provide depends greatly on the school. Typically, for elementary and middle schools and carnivals, we are very outgoing and interactive by providing numerous games, contests, and prizes. We highly recommend that the school provide ten to fifteen door prizes for this approach, as this is the students’ incentive to participate in the games and contests. We will also supply lots of smaller prizes for participation. In contrast, at most high school events, we are there to provide our amazing sound and light show. They don’t want a “cheesy” DJ on the microphone. And they are not interested in games and contests, they are there to dance! We are also happy to play all of your requested songs as our music is updated weekly. We provide your school a School Dance Planner so that your students can request all their favorite songs. We would be happy to assist in the planning and the entertainment of your next event. Call for Availability.

Ask us how we can do fundraisers to pay for your dances. Any Event that books from one of your dances, we will give a percentage back to your dance committee or PTO!

Elementary:

As Elementary School DJs in Vancouver and Portland, we perform "Family Dances." We always have 2 Professional DJ’s at your event. One DJ will keep the flow of music, while the other DJ is on the dance floor with the kids teaching a dance, encouraging the kids or handing out prizes. We encourage parent – child – sibling – friend interaction in a host of games that will keep your school buzzing for the next week. We transition from one activity to another quickly and smoothly. Only clean music will be played and customized to your theme.

Sock hops, family BBQs, disco nights, harvest parties, fundraisers, and father daughter dances are all events we enjoy doing. I would ask you to invite us to one of your meetings to go over all the details regarding your next dance to see how we can help with ideas on themes, fundraisers, and activities. Let us keep the kids and parents involved so that they look forward to the next family night!

Games played can include limbo, hula hoop contests, Hokey Pokie, cha cha slide, hand jive, walla balla, YMCA and the Party Train. Oh! And we always bring our must have bubble blast to each dance!
